Decommodifying Labour
Most labour laws have been undermined in the past few years in the name of Ease of Doing Business. Unionisation and strikes have been effectively curtailed; employer’s powers to fire workers have been enhanced; social security net for workers has been reduced. This effectively undermines worker rights and limits their worth to the service they perform/need they fulfil. How can this be addressed?
